As a fashion blogger, I feel like I sometimes feel drawn to all the shiny things. So when I heard so much chatter about Barefoot Dreams cardigans being on sale during a Nordstrom anniversary sale a few years ago, I was on high alert.

I ended up passing on it because I felt the price even at the NSALE discount was a pretty penny for a cardigan.

Over the years, I kept seeing different variations of Barefoot Dreams cardigans, and even Barefoot Dreams towels and robes creep up in my timeline and newsfeed.

However, during the last Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I finally gave in and ordered this cardigan by Barefoot Dreams hyped to be โ€œsoft and cozyโ€ and โ€œworth every penny.โ€

As summer makes way for fall and fall makes way for winter, I find myself getting sucked into the rabbit hole of clothing recommendations. One of them happens to be about Barefoot Dreams. Is the hype about the CozyChic Lite cardigan true? Hereโ€™s what I discovered!

The truth is, I really really really wanted to hate the cardi but I just couldnโ€™t. Keep reading to find out what I liked and disliked about this Barefoot Dreams Cozychic cardigan.

Before we dig in deeper, Iโ€™d like to point out that Barefoot Dreams cardigans come in several fabrications (materials) and styles. Some of the other popular Barefoot Dreams cardigans are:

  • CozyChic Lite Circle Cardigan โ€“ racked up over 3,000 reviews on Nordstrom alone. It comes in 12 different colors and available in three size ranges XS/S, M, L/XL.
  • Cozychic Lite Coastal Hooded Cardigan โ€“ racked up over 1,200 near-perfect 5-star reviews on Nordstrom. It comes in 6 colors and with the same XS/S, M, L/XL size structure.

For reference, I am 5โ€ณ5 and roughly 135 lbs. I typically wear a size 4 (XS or S depending on the brand).

Over the years, Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has been known to offer some of the best deals on most wanted, rarely-on-sale items like AG jeans and Zella Leggings. Today, I share my thoughts on another customer favorite, Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Lite cardigan. Worth the hype?

Some might argue that the cardigan runs small. But I think due to the sizing model, the cardigan runs true to size. I am wearing the XS/S in black color. I plan to integrate the cardi into my dressed up casual and work wardrobe. But, I think the other colors are just as versatile.

Pros: Barefoot Dreams Cardigan

  • Lightweight fabric
  • Soft, silky and cozy feel
  • Non-itchy fabric
  • Versatile colors
  • Easy to remove wrinkles
  • Mix and match pieces
  • Wardrobe staples

Cons: Barefoot Dreams Cardigan

  • Sizing limitations (XS/s, M, L/XL)
  • Cost
  • Peeling on certain surfaces

As you can tell, my love for this cardigan outweighs the cons. Admittedly, part of me silently wished I discovered Barefoot Dreams collection when I lived in Alaska.

The cold, dark winters and what seems like an always cold work environment would have kept this cardigan on a year-long rotation at work.

And if we need to talk about getting the most wears out of this cardigan, the buttery soft, non-itchy fabric is a 10/10. Iโ€™m not one to spend $$$ every day on a piece of clothing, but this CozyChic cardigan is a dream come true that is worth every penny. Yes, it does have a few limitations (but what clothing doesnโ€™t?)

As summer makes way for fall and fall for winter, this cardigan would make a great gift idea for family and friends thanks to its lax sizing. With Nordstrom’s fast, free shipping and return policy exchanges are a breeze.

I wore this cardigan with my first pair of Good American high waist jeans that I purchased during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. The jeans cost more than Iโ€™m used to. But for a change, I decided to splurge on these jeans since I live in them throughout the year.

Have you tried Good American jeans? I bought this pair, but if youโ€™re looking for a less expensive alternative, youโ€™ll like these $20 jeans from Old Navy (read my Old Navy Rockstar Jeans Review). Psst! Peep the shoe print the model is wearing!?

Another recent addition is this ballet flats. I had my eyes on the flats around springtime. The leopard print flat sold out quickly but was eventually restocked, which is when I scooped it up.

Some might argue that Barefoot Dreams is the softest and coziest cardigans and blankets their skin has ever touched! I called bs on that claim and tried the CozyChic Lite cardigan. Keep reading this Barefoot Dreams cardigan review to get the scoop on what I found out.

Though pricy, I love the quality. Plus, this leopard print ballet has been a much-needed reprieve for my similar Steve Madden flats that were falling apart from years of repeated use.

This J Crew ballet flat runs true to size but is narrow. Iโ€™m usually a size 8.5/9, and the size nine fits perfectly. Summer was met with animal print everything, and this flat was a favorite. Iโ€™ve been worn this shoe more than a handful of times.

It takes some time to break them in, but once you do, youโ€™ll be golden. Iโ€™ve walked in these flats around downtown Philly without feeling uncomfortable. For more affordable options, try this $30 Dream Pairs or this Joyce Azria ballerina flat.

My bag is a Staud inspired clear tote that I scooped up from Amazon. I donโ€™t know if you remember a few years ago when Christian Louboutin clear heels and bags were a thing. Those went out of style fast. But hey, clear bags are back.

I opted for this affordable beaded bag rather than splurging $200+ on a luxury option that might not be in fashion next year.

For accessories, I am wearing two Victoria Emerson bracelets. The black multirow one is this Victoria Emerson boho cuff, while the other is this Victoria Emerson wrap bracelet. You can find my black mesh watch here.

Itโ€™s kind of hard to see, but Iโ€™m wearing these lightweight chandelier earrings and double-row necklace that youโ€™ve seen a few times.

I was tired of hearing "how wonderful" Barefoot Dreams collection is. So, I spent my hard earned money and ordered the CozyChic Lite cardigan. Here's what I like and dislike about this hyped cardigan. You be the judge! ;)

My personal opinion is that this Barefoot Dreams cardigan lives up to the hype. And if all Barefoot Dreams collection feels this way, you bet Iโ€™ll be adding both the Cozychic Lite Coastal Hooded Cardigan and Circle Cardigan to my wardrobe soon.

Indeed, this cardigan is one of the softest, coziest sweaters Iโ€™ve put on my body. If Lululemon Align leggings are the gold standard for buttery soft leggings, Barefoot Dreams Cozychic Lite cardigans are the creme de la creme of cardigans.

There you have it! Everything (good + bad) I have to say about my Barefoot Dreams cardigan review.

I am wearing:
Cardigan | High-waist jeans | Ballet flats | Clear tote | Earrings | Necklace | Watch | Wrap bracelet | Boho cuff | Tank top (similar)

  1. DO NOT BUY DIRECTLY FROM BAREFOOT DREAMS… If you google the name you’ll read why. They either never send the product, but charge your card and you are left chasing them down with no response so you have to then call your credit card company. Many people have had the same problem with the company. Its a great product, but I won’t buy it ever again because of their crappy customer service.

    1. Oh wow! Thanks for sharing your experience shopping directly from Barefoot Dreams website. I got mine from Nordstrom and had no problems at all. Too sad you went through underwhelming customer service to get this great quality product. All the more reason for me to shop at Nordstrom!
